With the F-gas phase coming ever closer here is some brief info and important links to help understand what’s what & stay compliant
WHAT IS THE F GAS/HFC PHASEDOWN?
HFC phasedown will continue to impact our industry as it progresses. The EU F gas regulation includes a method of forcing end users to move away from using high global warming potential gases to more environmentally friendly gases in stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment very rapidly by limiting how much gas can be placed on the EU single market each year.
The rapid phase down steps are already creating real shortages of gas available which in turn is making gas prices rise very quickly.

A Guide to Running Costs
All refrigeration-based equipment benefits from a quality called “the coefficient of performance” or energy efficiency ratio.
In simple terms this means that you get between 2.5 kilowatts to 3 kilowatts of cooling and heating energy for every 1 kilowatt of electrical power consumed. This is achieved because the generated supply runs the heat pump and transfers heat energy from inside to outside and vice versa.
To establish an approximate idea of running costs per day, first determine the total capacity in kilowatts of the equipment and divide that figure by 2.5, multiply the result by the number of hours per day that the equipment is likely to be running and divide that figure by the cost of electricity measured in pence per kilowatt hour (this will vary with specific consumers).
Example of Approximate Costs
Based on a 3Kw wall mounted unit
3Kw divided by 2.5 = 1.2
1.2 × 8 hours per day = 9.6
9.6 × 6.5p (average kilowatt per hr price)
= 63 pence per day
= £5 per 5 day week
= £21.40 per month
